Outdoor Furniture – Select The Best Type

The best choice for your outdoor places would be furniture which is made out of teak wood. This kind of furniture is not only ever lasting but as the time passes the wood becomes more beautiful and it is natural material.

In starting the teak are nice golden shade color, than later on it turns into silver color, both look wonderful in the garden. If you want to maintain the golden color of teak than there are some cleaners in the market which can serve your purpose or you can use teak oil in the outdoor furniture?

If you put furniture outside the house than there is no requirement to place cushions on it. The entire structural design of the pieces and all of the plank may be seen when cushions are not put. And if you really want comfort than you can put cushion and still the look of the furniture is the same.

In teak you can find a lot of variety and I have seen different benches made of teak and they look amazing.

Teak wood is very dense as compare to the other woods and you will find different quality and grades of teak furniture and the most important thing is that how it is made. The weight of the wood also makes huge difference. So it’s always better to buy furniture from good store which are certified.

Having good outdoor furniture is very important because when any guest or any visitor will come, he or she will see the outside furniture first and it give good impression when you have good furniture.

When you are planning to buy some good furniture for garden or yard few things you should remember that is when you are placing furniture in the outdoor it is expose to the entire climate changing, so it’s better if you select the furniture accordingly.

You will find expensive outdoor furniture and it is not feasible to change or replace furniture every year, so you should take special care of it and cleaning should be done regularly. You should follow the instructions of the manufacturer for keeping it long lasting.

Many people prefer second hand and used furniture, so you do not get the proper instruction how to maintain it and in long run the furniture lost its charm but you can maintain it because cleaning is not that difficult task.

When you manufacturer gives you the written instruction you should keep it the safe place but however you have lost it , you can always remember that furniture’s can be clean by water and shop.

Aluminum furniture stand firm against the water and rust but you need to clean it frequently to maintain it properly.

Umbrella require some special care when it is being used after a long period of time. The joint of umbrella should oiled properly and if you have expensive umbrella which consist of wooden frame then you should try wax of paste for keeping its shine protected.

4 Fatal Mistakes Affiliates Make

Myths concerning affiliate marketing are appealing and attractive. People who do not know the entire system the wrong way round are prone to believing that it is something capable of giving them great fortune overnight. Stories concerning affiliates who earn tremendous amounts of money swim in their heads, and while these stories are as true as they can be, there are those who believe that they are going to have the same fortune once they indulge in this particular business.

It is true enough that affiliate marketing is financially rewarding. People who have gone through everything to be able to succeed in this business are reaping the seeds that they untiringly sowed. Many of them enjoy the kind of existence that was not possible for them to have had under ordinary circumstances. Having gone through the A-Z of affiliate marketing, however, these people are the ones who know that while such business is lucrative, there is absolutely no easy money in it.

Ignorance of this fact is one of the main reasons why there are people who fail miserably in the internet business. There are those who believe in myths concerning the easy money involved in systems such as affiliate marketing. They do not know that there are those who have wasted time, effort and too many resources in trying to pursue the life of ease that they believe this business will give them. And so they go into affiliate marketing armed with nothing but myths and fantastical notions of wealth swimming in their consciousness, never realizing that they bound to make mistakes that would prove to be their downfall.

What may be the reason why in businesses such as affiliate marketing, many are called but few are chosen? Perhaps the answer lies on the fact that many affiliates make mistakes that result from their ignorance of facts concerning how the entire business runs. Affiliate marketing is not as simple as an affiliate promoting a merchant’s wares through his website and getting paid for it. It is also about knowing the market and the customers at hand.

Discovering what the most common mistakes affiliates make can perhaps dispel the gloom about myths surrounding affiliate marketing by correcting some wrong notions about it. It might also be able to make those concerned understand that like any other business, there are dos and dont’s involved in this one if they want to make each of their steps count. The first common mistake affiliates make is their lack of knowledge concerning principles involved in their business. This refers to the affiliate’s knowledge of search engines in particular.

Affiliate marketing involves advertising, and advertising through the internet could not have been better without the existence of search engines. What every affiliate has to do is to make these search engines his best friend through studying search engine optimization closely. This way, he is able to know what to do in connection with building a better website to ultimately use for his business.

The second is that affiliates make the mistake of stuffing their sites with banners that do not provide enough information about the product at hand. The best way to battle this mistake is to provide good content hand-in-hand with such banners. It is important for customers to know and understand the features of a product, and good content will be able to help them realize this goal.

The third is that there are affiliates who make the mistake of promoting only one product. Consequently, customers are not given enough options to choose from. There is also the risk of generating fewer sales as compared to having more options for customers ponder about. It is always better to give them a few better alternatives than to give them only one.

The fourth is that there are affiliates who make the mistake of promoting too many products. As a result, customers are confused and end up beyond making a choice. It is perhaps good to give them only the best choices. This is because it is ultimately up to them to judge which one is the best for them to patronize.

All in all, affiliates that are doomed to fail in this business are those who do not exert enough effort to understand everything involved in the industry that they are in. Knowing their path step by careful step will prove to be beneficial to them, as there is no other way to succeed than to go through any path slowly but surely.

Make Your Oak Furniture Even More Beautiful

If you’re about to spend hundreds or thousands of pounds on a piece of oak furniture, read on. These quick tips could add years and elegance to your purchase and save you a bundle in the long run.

Oak is one of the most beautiful woods in the world; sturdy, durable and aged with a character of its own. When you buy a piece of oak furniture, it’s a purchase that should give you decades of pleasure and use. Over the years, the colour of the oak will mellow and take unique look of its own based on how you care for it.

Oak is a hard wood and is more susceptible than most woods to stains. Read on to see how you can minimise the effect of stains and get the look you want.
Caring for oak furniture.

There are different methods you need to use depending on where your oak furniture is at. If it’s outside, you must treat it differently than if it’s inside, but we’ll come back to that.

There are 3 steps to caring for your indoor oak pieces.
1. Original conditioning to get the look you want with a new piece of wood.
2. Cleaning properly.
3. Ongoing conditioning to maintain the look you want.

If you buy a new piece of oak furniture, you want to condition it for several reasons.
1. To help to protect it against stains
2. To get the look you want.
3. To enhance the longevity of the wood against infestation.

Depending on the type of oak furniture you have, you can either stain it, wax it or both. Staining is preferred for the tops of tables and sideboards to help protect it. You can do that with something like Ronseals English Oak hardwood furniture stain.

For the legs of coffee tables and other areas of oak furniture, you can simply wax them with a high quality beeswax. Once you’ve waxed them, allow them about half an hour to dry off and then get busy with a clean, dry lint free cloth like a cotton cloth and buff to a high shine.

For the first few years, this waxing process should be repeated every 3 months (more during winter) and then every 6 months to get the patina that you want.

Cleaning the oak.

If you do get a stain or watermark on a piece of oak, you can simply sand it away with a fine piece of sandpaper or fine steel wool, going with the grain, and then re-wax it.

Cleaning should be done thoroughly every 3 months. Many chemical cleaners will strip wood so it’s important to use something that doesn’t strip it like a natural oil based cleaner like Murphy’s oil soap.

Once you’ve cleaned it you need to condition it every 6 months with something like linseed oil which soaks into the wood and conditions it, enhancing the grain. You can even use lemon oil for this which makes your room smell beautiful. For best results, rotate the two conditioners.

If you have an oak wardrobe or a set of oak drawers, you can use a high quality bee’s wax and polish them to your preferred patina as shown above. Personally, I’d stain the top of a set of oak drawers. Repeat the waxing every 6 months.

If you are lucky enough to have oak garden furniture, you can use an oil based stain to make it waterproof. Be careful not to use linseed oil to condition it however as it might not dry properly and can result in mildew. Instead, use lemon oil.

And then sit back, relax and enjoy your beautiful furniture.

Health Secrets From Five Thousand Years Ago

When you get sick, you go to the doctor. And the doctor will, of course, prescribe medicines. You will go and buy medicines. You take them, and hopefully, you get well.

This is how the health profession goes on nowadays – a cycle of diagnosis and prescription.

If anyone were to give you herbs for medicine, you would probably say that that person was a quack.

But nowadays, studies are being conducted to see if there are really is any merit to what is called natural medicine.

Natural medicine is the use of natural methods, herbal medicines, and traditional practices to heal ailments. Every culture has a form of natural medicine. In ancient cultures, village medicine men served as the doctors of the community, passing on medical knowledge to the apprentices that followed them.

Many categories of the healing methods fall under natural medicine. Among these are traditional medicine, complementary medicine, and alternative medicine.

Usually, natural medicine refers to medical practices that were in place before the advent of modern medicine.

This includes herbal medicine, or phytotherapy, which is prevalent in Chinese, Ayurvedic(or Indian), and Greek medicine.

Upon the advent of modern medicine, many professionals discarded the use of herbs in favor of man-made medicine. The fact that these treatments are based on the healing properties of some herbs was forgotten.

For example, opium, digitalis, quinine, and aspirin all have their roots in traditional medicine.

Natural medicine can be considered as a lost art. This does not mean that it has lost efficacy over time. In some cases, natural therapy is actually better than modern medicine. This leads some doctors to seriously consider and study the possible uses of natural medicine

Before we continue, it is important to stress that not all the natural remedies are legitimate. It would help to only try those remedies which have been thoroughly studied and are relatively risk free.

Take herbal medicine for example. There are many well-documented and studied herbal remedies available. However, only those that deal with minor ailments such as cough, colds, fever, skin rashes, and its ilk are likely to be recommended by health professionals. These remedies are sometimes superior to synthetic medicine. This is because herbal medicines are less likely to cause negative side effects.

Currently there are numerous organizations that study the effects and advocacy of natural medicine – among which is herbal medicine. Some governments and health agencies openly advocate the use of natural methods since they are inexpensive and relatively risk-free.

As their studies compile, more herbs and treatments are added to the list of accepted medicines. However, many herbs and treatments have been proven to be bogus medicine. This represents a challenge for both the user and the agencies because they have to ascertain that the treatments they either use or advocate are legitimate.

There exist today many alternative medical treatments that fall under natural medicine. However, not all of them have been proven to be effective. You could mention homeopathy, aromatherapy, acupuncture, and other alternative medical treatments. It would pay to consult the experts as to the legitimacy of these treatments.

Natural medicine should also be thought of as an accompanying medicine. Right now, the current collective medical thought suggests that natural medicine be used only to supplement accepted modern medical practices. In that case of minor ailments your expert we actually advise you to take natural therapies instead.

The practice of modern medicine revolves around diagnosing an illness and prescribing treatments for such. Natural medicine is helpful because it suggests that treatment be not necessarily given only when sick. Natural medicine strives to make each patient practice good health habits. These habits include good diet, healthy living, and the regular natural treatment.

It is this same line of thought that leads our parents to tell us to eat our vegetables. Yes, a healthy lifestyle and will do no harm to our well-being. And this is the foundation of natural medicine – may it be massage, herbal medicine, aromatherapy or others.

It is funny but true that science, in its quest for excellence, is studying the knowledge of sages past. This, surprisingly, leads us back to the remedies nature offers. The possibilities of finding remedies to everyday illnesses in natural medicine are encouraging. So staying tuned to studying these remedies is worthwhile until we can verify that these therapies are truly helpful to our health and our society.

Top 10+ Tips For Holiday Travel!

The holidays are here and so is the stress. There is nothing like the stress of booking tickets and traveling during the holidays. Added to that stress is airport security.

I am a former airport screener and I have made it my personal mission to help passengers get through airport security fast, safe and easy.

Here are my top ten valuable airport security tips to help you travel through airport security this holiday season. Be sure to tell me your horror stories or comments on traveling through airport security during the holidays.

1. Book your tickets as far in advanced as possible. This will lower the chance of you being chosen for secondary screening, since last minute bookings seem to increase your chances.

2. Pack light. Nothing delays the security lines more than when the x-ray operator has to ask for a rerun on a passenger’s bag because they cannot determine if the contents contain a prohibited item or not. Remember that liquid medications, breast milk and baby formula are exempt from the 3-1-1 rule for liquids, gels and creams. Pack your exempt items separate from your regular 3-1-1 carry-on items and declare them to the screener at the divesting table at x-ray.

3. Know what items are permitted and prohibited in your carry-on and checked baggage. Download the Ultimate Packing List on my contact page. 40 million prohibited items have been confiscated to date, including explosives, guns, knives and weapons. Do not be only of those passengers who delay the line by bringing a prohibited item to security checkpoint.

4. Use online check-in. The airlines will allow you to check-in no more than 24 hours in advance. This is a BIG stress reducer. If you can print out your boarding pass from home, this alone tells you that you are not scheduled for secondary screening.

5. Use curb-side check-in. The porters have to pay for their carts in some cases, so give them a little and save BIG TIME. I saved 2 to 3 hours of waiting in line when I tipped a porter $20 to check me in curb-side in Orlando.

6. Keep your cool! TSA could charge you up to $5,000 for interfering with the screening process for unruly behavior or threatening comments. This means NO joking around. Do not say any of these words: terrorist, bomb, IED, IID, George Bush and Osama bin Laden.

7. Dress for airport security. No body piercings, no thick bracelets or jewelry. No baggy pants and avoid wearing skirts or dresses. You will increase your chances of secondary screening if your clothing can easily conceal a weapon. Wear slip-on shoes! This alone will save you time.

8. Place your personal bedroom toys in checked baggage. You could shutdown an airport by mistake if they are carried in your carry-on luggage. They have similar components as an IED.

9. Arrive at least 2 hours early for domestic and 3 hours for international flights. You don’t know if the person in front of you will do something stupid and delay the line. Power outages, weapon scares, bomb threats are just a few reasons airports will shutdown for hours.

10. Normally you can get cheaper ticket prices on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. During the holidays, avoid traveling that holiday week if possible. Fly early than 10am and later than 3pm if possible. That is peak travel time for security lines.

Tell me your horror stories of going through airport security screening during the holidays.

Happy and Safe Travels!

The Number One Mistake Made by New Marketers

Think back to the last time you bought something. Let’s suppose it was a widget of some sort, an iPod for example. Did you buy the iPod because you wanted a little computer that stores files? Or did you buy that iPod because you wanted to be able to easily listen to your favorite music, audiobooks, podcasts, and watch your favorite videos anytime, anywhere?

I hope the answer to that question is obvious to you. When you saw an ad for an iPod did it go into detail about the kind of hard drive it had, how long research was done to perfect it, or why they picked those little white headphones? Of course not, because you don’t care. Apple knows you don’t care and won’t try to change your mind because they also know you wouldn’t buy it for any of those features anyway.

That is mistake number one that marketers make when promoting their products or services. They focus their advertising on the features that make it so cool and unique. I’ve seen a lot of things that were “cool and unique” but I never felt the slightest impulse to buy them.

I’m sure you’ve experienced a similar situation. Why didn’t you buy a different mp3 player? The other companies weren’t able to convince you that the benefits in choosing their product were worth more than the money they were asking for it.

That’s the secret: promote the benefits of your product or service and forget the features. Once your prospect sees what’s “in it for them” they will naturally recognize the value your product presents and won’t require tough sales closing techniques. It’s sounds overly simple, but it’s the biggest mistake businesses make in their marketing.

You can be different immediately by focusing your ads on the benefits your product gives your clients instead of trying to convince your prospects that you have more gizmos and gadgets than the competition.

Another example: you don’t have a door on your house because you wanted a door. You purchased that door because that door provides you with privacy, security, and keeps your home warm. What does your product do that will enrich peoples lives?

If your product or service does NOT enrich people’s lives and you’re just in business to make money, trust me, you will go out of business. The only way to get what you want out of your business is to help your prospects get what they want out of life. If you can give your customers that benefit, you will lead a successful business and ultimately a happier life knowing what you are doing for other people.

Acne Home Remedies

It’s your big prom night. You have the perfect dress, and the boy of your dreams is on his way to pick you up. People will tell you how lovely you look. That is… until they see the big red zit on your nose! With hours before prom left, you are confronted with a huge disaster: acne. How do you get rid of it with a home remedy?

Before you ruin your eye makeup, realize this: There are some home remedies for the treatment of acne. If you can’t bring your well-trusted dermatologist to your big dance, there is still some hope yet. Let’s take a look at a few types of acne home remedies.

First of all, one of the best over-the-counter home remedies for acne is cortisone cream. This particular type of cream can be found in any drug store or Walmart in the United States. Simply put, cortisone cream is known for its ability to decrease inflammation, itching, and swelling. It will also stop burning as well as assist in adding moisture to the skin. With some cortisone cream and a little bit of cover-up makeup, you will be set for your big night.

If you can’t make it to the drug store in time, but happen to have some basic foods around your house, you may be able to do the trick with a little tomato and parsley! All you must do is but a piece of the tomato as well as three tablespoons of parsley in a blender and apply the mixture to your skin for a few minutes. You may find that this cause the swelling and redness to go away. This is because tomatoes are known to disinfect because of their acidity. For this same reason, lemon juice and lime juice are also great disinfectants for your skin. Any type of food that has a high level of acidity should definitely do the job.

If you have some rubbing alcohol handy, you can use a cotton ball to apply it to the area of your skin that is affected. The alcohol will dry out your blemish and the skin around it. This will stop the pimple from spreading or becoming larger. The last thing you want is more zits to go to the dance with.

Another option is to mix some nutmeg into boiling milk. Sound odd? Maybe. But applying this to your face and keeping it on for an hour or it just may just get you to the prom feeling great and looking great! You can even try rubbing some fresh garlic on the blemish. This may prevent any scarring from occurring.

And speaking of scarring, one thing you should definitely NOT DO is pop your pimples. This will definitely cause scarring and cause you to look even worse – long after your big night is over with. Any dermatologist would tell you the same thing. So if you want to look great and feel great, leave the remedies to these home products and not to your fingers!

Are You Properly Tracking Your Company’s Stock?

The Capitalization Table provides investors with a bird’s eye view of the sum total of all the different securities issued by a company. It includes the amount of investment that the company has procured from investors and the distribution of securities which might include common/preferred shares, options, warranties etc. and the individual capitalization ratios.

The driving force behind an investment in a company is its expected return on investment, which should be profitable as well as lucrative. For investors, the tool used to state expected return is called a capitalization table, which is used in tandem with pro forma financials. Thus, the usage and preparation of capitalization tables is of great interest to prospective investors.

Basically, a capitalization table addresses the present and future funding requirements of the company as well as returns in terms of value that will be obtained over a period of time. It implies that the investor is greatly concerned about whether the returns on investment are good enough to justify the risk involved or not. The capitalization table encapsulates all the details about the amount of equity capital used in funding the company, the time of capital contribution and the ownership of the company. This information helps investors better understand their returns on investment.

Terms most commonly used in capitalization tables are “pre-money valuation” and “post-money valuation”. The former refers to the company’s value prior to any investments made by an investor. When the pre-money valuation is divided by fully diluted shares outstanding, a price per share is obtained. The latter refers to pre-money valuation plus whatever amount is invested. Obtaining the exact picture regarding calculation of pre-money valuation is not so much a scientific endeavor as it is an art form. There is great scope for personal judgment. All said and done, pre-money valuation is, by its very nature, negotiable.
However, getting future valuation for the exit can be achieved more scientifically.

There are a number of formulas that help determine the value of the company but, often, just one solitary equation without need for other and more complex formulae will help solve the issue. For a company wishing to achieve higher valuations at exit, it must have first achieved a sustainable competitive edge, and normally this may only occur after six years or more for those companies having planned for a five year plan of action. That makes it imperative for companies to outperform “also ran” companies and prove to the competition that trying to imitate more successful companies will surely not be of much use.
Some important and noteworthy aspects that a capitalization table should address are:

The Advantages Of Hot Water Dispensers Over Kettles

My house has seen plenty of refurbishing and home improvements. Scrimping and saving for redesigning every four years gives me some satisfaction and knowledge that I can treat myself to something nice. Recently we saw our kitchen transform from a small block to a spacious modern facility, to which many of our friends and family spend most of their times lounging in, rather than lounging in the lounge!

Most impressive of all in our kitchen is the built in hot water dispenser that we decided would be quite fitting for the theme of kitchen – modern and minimalist. Hot water dispensers are seen in many offices and work environment since the staple beverage for many hard working individuals is either tea or coffee. In a bid to become more environmentally friendly we decided that using a water dispenser would somehow reduce the amount of electricity usage in the house.

Hot water dispensers work by heating up filtered water quickly, without having to wait around as you would when boiling water in a kettle. In addition, their main feature is the easy dispenser that releases water without having to pour water in a cup, saving you time and enabling energy efficiency in your kitchen.

These are also useful for people conscious of lime scale and calcium build up in the kettle. Often this can affect the functioning of the kettle, causing it to stop working or taking longer to heat up water. This adds to energy wasting and increases in electricity wastage. Furthermore, many people will find that kettles are more dangerous to keep in the kitchen, as there is more risk in spillage causing damage to surfaces or to you.

Often with kettles, we tend to fill it up more than we need to; instead of re-heating what is left over we pour out what we do not need, refilling it with yet more water and going through the process again of waiting for the kettle to boil. This adds to the wastage issue – wasting water. With hot water dispensers at a twist of a knob or a pull of a lever, you are able to control how much water you need without the worry of wasting excess water.

Portable water dispensers are also available for those not wishing to install a water tank, but rather prefer to refill it like an urn. The difference is, these are much smaller than an urn, about the same size of an average kettle and heat up within minutes. This can save you approximately fifty percent of energy compared to a standard kettle.

The dispensers do not store hot water, on the contrary they heat water up as it passes through, therefore, making it safe to use. Some dispensers can be built in with a tank, in which case they will need maintenance from time-to-time so no damage from the temperature is caused. However, the tanks are never pressurised as it is hooked up to the water tank.

Normal hot water taps are around 120 degrees, whereas in a dispenser they are released at 190 degrees, which is ideal for making soups, coffee, tea or hot chocolate. For those looking at redesigning their kitchen, should consider purchasing a hot water dispenser. If like me you lack the patience of waiting for a kettle to boil and are concerned about energy efficiency, then a water dispenser is best for you.

More people are taking steps to reduce their carbon footprint; one method is reducing energy, electricity and water wastage. As the kitchen and bathroom uses up more water than any other room in the house, this is the best place to start reducing carbon emissions.

Anna Stenning is an expert on hot water dispensers having installed one in her kitchen recently.

Adult Acne: The Facts

You may remember suffering with embarrassing acne when you were a teenager. Sure, there were those times when you were too horrified to go on a date because of a pimple on your cheek. And there were the times when you couldn’t imagine having your crush pass you in the hall when you had a big zit on your nose. But now that you are older, you notice that your acne is coming back. What is happening? Unfortunately, it is called adult acne, and it affects 25% of men and 50% of women at some point during their adulthood.

The main cause of acne is blocked hair follicles or pores. There are many reasons they can become blocked. Acne can reappear at any age. It can be a reoccurrence of our teenage acne problem. It can be a hormone issue, or it could possibly be a first time occurrence. If you are an adult with acne and you have never had it before, it is a good idea to let a doctor investigate its cause and determine why this is happening.

Sometimes acne can just be a chronic, persistent problem. It is most common to women. Due to menstrual cycles and hormonal changes, which accompany them, women often experience acne outbreaks the week before their menstruation. Birth control pills, which contain the sebaceous gland stimulating hormone androgen, can also be a reason for adult acne. This type of acne is referred to as hormonal acne and is usually the main culprit of adult acne in women.

Medications can also cause acne in adults. Anabolic steroids, anti-epileptic medicines, anti-tuberculosis drugs and iodine containing medicines can all produce acne in adults.

Stress is also a contributor to an acne problem. The older we are, it seems the more stress we have in our lives. When we are stressed out, our body produces cortisol, a steroidal hormone that over stimulates oil glands and promotes acne. Any type of hormonal imbalance can be a cause of acne.

There are several treatments available for adult acne. Some birth control pills are capable of keeping hormones at bay and reduce blemishes. Topical creams and gels called retinoids can help unclog pores in mild to moderate cases. Antibiotic topical creams and gels; oral antibiotics, or a combination of both, may be needed in moderate to severe cases.

Gentle face washings using mild soaps are recommended. You should avoid any rough scrubbings. This will irritate your skin and make the situation worse. Women should use a moisturizer since acne dries the skin. When choosing cosmetics, look for the types labeled noncomedogenic. This means they do not clog pores, the primary cause of acne.

Adult acne can cause physical, as well as, emotional problems in people. You may wonder why, after all these years, did this skin condition show it’s blemished head. Or you may have been experiencing it on a regular basis. It can interfere with your life everyday. It can be a challenging task, but with the assistance of medications and a dermatologist, you can regain control again.
